Between 1998 and 2003 composer Richard Niles wrote and hosted the series “New Jazz Standards” for BBC Radio 2. This interview features ‘smooth jazz’ icons, saxist Boney James and trumpeter Rick Braun in conversation and performance- playing a duet on Horace Silver’s “Song For My Father”. In it, James says, “Smooth Jazz isn’t a style – it’s a radio format!”
