CARMINE MIRANDA – A Classical Gas! From BACH to EDM!

Dr. CARMINE MIRANDA is a classical cello Rockstar! Born in Venezuela of Armenian/Italian parents, Carmine is an internationally recognized, multi award-winning soloist and recording artist - the youngest musician to ever record Bach’s Six Cello Suites at 22. But he is also an EDM (electronic Dance Music) composer/producer/DJ who runs his own label, RLU Records. Carmine. He is Professor of Cello at Belmont University, Nashville. I recently met this unique musician when I was asked to write a piece for him – The Imperial Suite, a duet to be performed with Robert Marler, principal pianist of the Nashville Symphony.

I’m happy to introduce you to a man with a very open set of ears. Carmine discusses his very human approach to his art. In this video he picks up the cello to discuss his creative process and demonstrate the many sounds and emotions of his beautiful instrument. I also get him to play THE HAPPY-SAD GAME. What’s that???
